Nobody does bitch better than Sarah Michelle Gellar, and—yesssss—she’s stepping back into her nastiest role ever: Kathryn Merteuil from “Cruel Intentions.”
It was revealed last year that NBC was in talks to revive the 1999 cult classic, and after negotiations, SMG reportedly closed a deal to star in not only the pilot but—if it gets picked up—the whole series.
According to Deadline, the show starts 15 years after the movie left off and follows Kathryn as she vies for control of ominously important-sounding Big Business Valmont International and goes head to head with new character Bash Casey, the teenage son of her stepbrother, the late Sebastian Valmont (played by a slinky Ryan Phillippe in the movie), and Annette Hargrove (a young Reese Witherspoon).
